Paro (2250m)
Among the four cities Paro, nearby Pa Chu River is famous for Bhutan’s oldest temples and monasteries, and the country’s only one airport, National Museum, is also ever green fertile valley. Ta Dzong (national library with traditional heritage of Bhutan), Rinpung Dzong (place of celebration of traditional folk culture), Drukgyel (view tower for Mt. Chomolhari), Kila Gompa (home to Buddhist nuns), farm house built in traditional style and magnificence of life style of farming family, and Kyichu(one of the two oldest shrines of Bhutan) are the main attractions of Paro.
Thimpu (2350m)
Thimpu is the capital city of Bhutan. Although it provides the modern facilities, is rich in traditional architectural and cultural prosperity. The people of the Thimpu are welcoming and cooperative. Monasteries like Tashichho Dzong and Phajoding Monastery and Cheri Tango, Semokha (the institute of language and culture studies), national library with Foreign Language Collection House, Zaring Chusum (the panting school), National Institute of Traditional Medicine, Folk Heritage and National Textile Museum, weekend market, and Jigme Dorji National Park are the places to be noticed in Thimpu.
Punakha (1350m)
Punakha is the most fertile valley of Bhutan and was the capital city until 1955. This valley is in between two rivers Pho Cho and Mo Cho. Dochu-la (place of 108 Stupas), Punakh Dzong (monastery built with Bhutanese art and crafts), and Chimi Lhakhang (temple of fertility) are the main places to visit in Punakha.
Bumtang (2600m)
Bumthang is regarded as the most attractive and holy valleys of Bhutan which consists of four valleys Ura, Chumery, Tang, and Chokhor. These four basins are beautified by temples, monasteries, and stupas. Bare rocks towering above river gorge and thick forests also entice the visitors. Bumthang is also famous for its weavers, and their hand woven textile products.
